iphone won't stay connected to home wifi when locked

Reset your network settings.

Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings

Reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

• Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
• Press and hold on the Home button
• Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

As Meg says, WiFi is disconnected when the phone goes to sleep. However, the fact that it asks you to log in again is a defect in the network that you are connecting to; it should recognize that you have previously logged in.

It's not a problem. It's the way the phone is designed to work. There is no setting to change the behavior.

You can't do anything about disconnecting WiFi when the phone goes to sleep, except keep the device connected to power. For the problem of being required to log in again you will have to contact the owner of the network. But most likely that's the way they intend it to work.

Hey there everyone! Here's the fix:

Open SETTINGS

Go to Wi-Fi and click on the little blue circle with an arrow

turn Auto-Join ON

turn Auto-Login OFF

Use your iPod like normal 🙂

That is expected behavior. Once the phone goes into lock mode, it disconnects from WiFi unless it's plugged in.
