Scanner is connected to mac but won't scan
We recently purchased a scanner, Scansnap iX500, and we've been trying to connect it to our mac (which is up to date). The software for the scanner has been downloaded and whenever I plug the scanner in, I receive a notification from the app saying that the scanner is ready to scan. Yet, when I go to System Preferences and Printers & Scanners, the scanner doesn't appear when I try to add it and Image Capture won't recognize it either.
Just now, after plugging it into the computer, I've received a new notification along with the previous one saying the connection of the iX500 has been switched to the mobile device.
