Why the newest generations of iphones are not thick ? (iphone 6,6 plus)

Iphone should be thicker because when thin it seem to break more, and there are a lot of careless people so I feel like the phone 6,6plus should've be thicker .it would be more sells and etc.hope the next generation would be thicker.
