iTunes Won't Play any songs from Apple Music

I tried changing my DNS and restarting my computer and none of it worked. After signing out of my Apple music account in iTunes and signing back I was able to fix the issue. Hope the same works for you if you're having this problem.

Solution:

If you have logged into iTunes stores at different times from 2 different countries you could have this problem.

Go to iTunes store and check the purchase currency of songs. If the currency is the old iTunes store you logged into, log out from iTunes and relog in again using your actual iTunes country.

I guess it's the same problem if you used 2 accounts from the same country, you are probably using the wrong account. Log out and re-login again with the correct account. It will work.

turns out i just needed to authorize this computer. which was under the account sub-menu in the menu bar. i'd done this before but updated the OS since, so i guess it needed to be done again.

Update - partly fixed.

Albums stop playing mid-way through (always at the end of a track, not mid-track). Solution is to quit Apple Music - album can then be found again and played from the track required. Not ideal but it works.

I'm having the same poblem on my 2015 Macbook running high sierra. Vey annoyed. It just skips any song on apple music!! Loads up the name of the track for a split second then moves onto the next one!

I had the same problem as well

but i did the following and it worked for me:

• Sign out and back in to iTunes
• Authorize this computer (even if it has been authorized before)

Everything should be fine after this

Had the same issue this morning, fixed it by disabling my firewall.

For Windows users:

- Try to disable all antivirus or firewall-creating software.

or

- Reboot your computer in ''Safe Mode'' and try again.

For Mac users:

- Disable firewall in the settings menu.

It worked! Toggled off Firewall on OSX Sierra preferences, the quit Apple Music and re-started apple music. Now streaming of "for you" songs in apple music is working. Once working, I toggled my firewall back on.

I had the same problem - select a song to play ... cloud icon will flash on and off as random songs where selected and discarded - as if a ghost was running through the album but couldn't decide on a song - tried the DNS Change, didn't work. Tried signing out of iTunes and back in .. didn't work ... then I Went into settings ( iPhone 6) - music- and right at the bottom - where my Apple ID is under home sharing - I signed out - shut down - rebooted - music plays fine now ...p.s all my music is on my phone and I haven't signed back in to home sharing ... hope this helps

Reauthorizing my account worked for me. Just go to account (on the top bar), Authorizations, and Authorize this computer. It will tell you this computer is already authorized but then the music works! Hope this helps people with this similar issue.

I'm having exactly the same thing happening. And I also got a lot of issues with synchronisation of my playlists with my iPhone 5s. Previous iTune version was working better.

Try these steps:

• Restart your computer.
• Sign out and back in to your account.
• Reinstall iTunes. Before installing a fresh version, disable the antivirus software.

Tried all that on my side. Same thing still happening.😟

Same here, since the v 12.12.1 update. Can't play any Apple Music songs at all, they appear as available (i.e. aren't greyed out) but trying to play them just skips to the next track, and keeps doing that until it hits the end of the selection. Nothing plays. So poor.
