How do I change my name and address for this forum?

I changed my login name and reply email - but I find it didn't change the email and name I originally used to set up this account! How do I change those? I no longer use that email or name.

Your main (all things Apple) login email?

That is your Apple ID. So you've changed your Apple ID?

If so, you would have needed to sign out of your old one before changing it to a new one. I do not know if you can do that after the fact - but it is worth a try: log in with your old one and then log out on every device. Then try to log in with the new one.

Apps are permanently attached to the email address used to purchase them. The email address and password combination that make up an Apple ID remain valid even if, for some reason, you are no longer able to use the email address to receive mail, e.g. it is via a company or ISP you are no longer with. It is possible to set up an alternate email to use for correspondence about your account. Setting up a new Apple ID for your device however is generally not the best way to go about things. You may be able to workaround the problem if you Set up Family Sharing and invite your old ID to join the family, but that could just be adding another layer of confusion.

The normal reason for people wanting to change their user names here is that they picked a user name that personally identifies them, and they later decide they would prefer to remain anonymous. Unless I've missed something I don't think that is the case here I suspect what you really needed to do was set up notification and rescue email addresses: Manage your Apple ID email addresses - Apple Support

I Hate to add to the confusion, but I can't resist. If you got a new email address, there is no reason why you cannot change the old Apple ID email address to your new one.

You are not creating a new ID, you are merely changing the email address which is your Apple ID. Did you try signing out of your old ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID and then sign in with the newly changed Apple ID?

That is the problem, my iPhone 4 will not allow me to log out. I click the existing (old) email but I do not get a pop up with options nor is there a "sign out" option.

Nope. I have access to the old email but I am going to drop it soon - the same account is now accessed with a different email address. My phone will not release the old one so that I can sign in with the new one. Everyone is directing me to the help page that directs me to tap the old login but that doesn't work. I get no pop up and there is no sign out option.

That IS the case here. This has nothing to do with a notification and rescue email address.

This is also two separate issues.
