Some time back I changed my credit card information on my Apple ID at the App Store.
Now I have reverted back the info to that of my old credit card. But all my purchase history is gone.
Have I lost all the purchases made through my 1st credit card?

Did you switch Apple IDs or just credit cards?

Just credit cards.
Try checking your purchase history using iTunes on a computer - sometimes the information on the phone does not match for some reason.
If you still don't see anything, I would say it's time to contact iTunes support and see if they can help.

You are right, I just checked and the purchases are visible on other devices, i.e. my iPad. But somehow not on my phone.
Can you think of any way to make them visible on my phone? I want to download some apps which I had deleted earlier to save space.

What version of iOS do you have on your phone and which phone do you have?
