CS6 requires old Java?

Hi

I just upgraded my imac to Yosemite and now whenever i want to open Illustrator, Photoshop, indesign CS5 or CS6 i get the message that i need to install the older version of Java SE 6-Runtime. I probable have it somewhere on my backup. Can someone explain how i can reinstall it or where i can download it and reinstall it?

Please HELP!

Thank you!

Thank you Jimmy, for your quick reply and help, but in the meantime i found a good tip on the Adobe site

A commenter, eric3k, has told me that creating two empty folders may also fix this issue. You might want to give that a try. The two folders are:

  • /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk
  • /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle

You can create these with the following commands:

1

2

sudo
mkdir
-p
/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1
.6.0.jdk

sudo
mkdir
-p
/System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy
.bundle

I tried it and it works perfectly. I'm so happy!!
