How do I get caller ID to display the caller name if they aren't on my contacts
I've tried to find an answer to this question, but it usually gets overridden by questions about caller ID only if the person is on your contacts list.
How can you get the iPhone caller ID to display the name of the caller (assuming they have it listed) if they are not on your contacts list? I've received calls from people on a land line with caller ID and would see a name displayed. However, I'll receive a call from the same person on my iPhone (who isn't in my contacts list) but it will only show the number. Adding every person who calls me isn't always feasible, especially if I won't know the number of the person who is calling me. I'd like to be able to screen my phone calls better to avoid telemarketing calls when I'm at work, etc. but not skip the calls that are actually important.
I've tried looking for settings and searching for the answer online, but every topic is always about whether or not they are on your contacts list, which isn't what I'm trying to find out. Further, is this even something that the iPhone is capable of? Or is it something that I need to see my service provider about? I've been through three different iPhones and I've yet to figure this one out.
