Malware??

ok to make a long story short... I got phished! They took money from my account my online access has been blocked because my bank said I had malware on my device. They gave me the ip address.. I checked it out and it is the address to my iPad. Can my iPad get malware?? If so how do I get if off my device?? Will resetting my device work?? If so how do I reset it?? Will I lose what I downloaded on it??

please help! I have to get this figured out or I can't use my online access.

You have no malware unless you downloaded an app that wasn't from the App Store or you jail-broke your device.

It is extremely difficult to infect iPad tablets. Your iPad becomes an easier target if it's jailbroken. If you access the internet thru WiFi, do you know that (public) IP address (the IP that you checked) is shared among many devices?

I Have a router that all the computers in my house use. It is password protected. I do not use public wifi I know the danger in using that with banking.

this is driving me crazy trying to figure out how they got on my banking website....

That IP is a public IP assigned to your (DSL/cable) modem. All internet capable devices in your house share that same IP address to access the internet. You can't say that it's the IP to your iPad.

You shouldn't worry so much about the iPad. You should look at possibility of malware infection on your other computers (Mac OSX or Windows). What exactly happens when you said "I got phished". Someone may be able to make an educated guess what happens to you.
