iPad unable to pick up wifi frequencies

Hi, some time ago now my iPad 2 was dropped on a tiled floor. The screen suffered minor cracks in one corner (which isn't much of an issue) and the iPad was then unable to pick up any wifi signals, even though every other apple device I owned still connected fine. At the time I tried everything I could to fix this - restarting my router, resetting the network settings on the iPad, and restarting the iPad itself - but nothing seemed to work! The iPad has been sitting in a drawer for the past year or two but now I have a use for it again and I'd really like to fix it.

To add to the confusion, my router has been updated recently and now emits wifi signals of two different frequencies, one of which the iPad is able to pick up (notably I also updated the software of the iPad at one point, though I don't believe this affected it). I've also taken it travelling to Italy with me recently and it has been able to pick up some wifi networks in airports and hotels, but not all. That being said, even when it does manage to pick up a wifi signal it doesn't stay connected to it for very long - so it is virtually useless.

What could possibly be the problem with this iPad?

And, how could I get it fixed?
