How do I turn off shuffle play in itunes for iphone?

with new update to 10.0.2 I can't turn the shuffle off. I've tried tapping the shuffle twice. Doesn't work. Please help. I listen to a lot of classical and it is very annoying.

Which shuffle button are you pressing? There are two:

Shuffle All (at the top of a list). This starts shuffle playback, it does not toggle it OFF if you tap it again:

Shuffle Setting (below Now Playing artwork, where Up Next is). This is the ON/OFF setting for shuffle playback:

You should follow the 2nd example by (a) make sure that the Now Playing artwork is visible, then (b) pull up on the artwork to reveal the Shuffle setting, then (c) tap the criss-cross arrows to turn Shuffle OFF (white background, as in my example ... if Shuffle were ON then the criss-cross arrows would have a red background).

I don't have a shuffle icon at the bottom of the album song I'm playing!

my iPhone 5S does not show that criss cross on the album artwork screen so i am stuck in shuffle mode. any ideas on how I can get out of this. I like to listen to live recorded albums and the sequence is important as it is presented on the album.

What version of iOS are you using? It is not on the artwork, if you're using 10.x then "pull up" on the artwork to reveal the Shuffle setting.

OK, I have found the post about sliding up on the screen that shows the song artwork when playing. The shuffle was bold red (on). I was able to click on it and turn it off. Problem solved.

Yes, that is the correct (and only) place to turn shuffle OFF.

while in the now playing screen. Scroll up and it will show SHUFFLE anf REPEAT button. Click shuffle it turns it off
