It seems that some people running Windows 10 have had success first installing this versioniTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and then updating that to the current all-64 bit release.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Any idea on how to update to the latests version of iTunes? I'd presume using Apple Software Update but when attempting to check for new updates, nothing comes up.

The problem is caused because a specific version of the Visual C++ 2005 CRT dlls is missing, namely 8.0.50727.6195.

I actually found this thread when I encountered the problem on Windows 10. Fortunately I have a solution as well 😁.

Version 8.0.50727.6195 is not included in "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)" or in the SP1 version,

but in "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update":

Install that & iTunes should install on Win10.

Hope that helps
