Convert tgz file to img

Do you know how can I convert a .tgz to an .img?

I know and I did already the serch on google. But I cannot find the right command to convert it.
A tgz file is a compressed file not an img file. So uncompress the file and see what file type it contains. I'll try again, http://www.openthefile.net/extension/tgz

What exactly do you think is inside this tgz flle, and what do you expect to be able to do with the .img file once you have it?
I had to uncompress the tgz file. Inside there was already the .img
