Mac keyboard function keys on Windows 10 not working properly

I have just updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 on my Bootcamp iMac and I noticed that I was no longer able to use the mac keyboard to adjust the volume, change the brightness, etc...

Would there be any way to get that functionality back? I use those keys quite often so it has been an inconvenience since upgrading to Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

1. Roll back W10 to W8.1 and wait for official W10 BC drivers from Apple.

2. Use System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers or Boot Camp: Solve Windows support software installation problems .

I'm running a late 2011 MacBook Pro. Just upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. The function keys were not working like most people have posted here.I just installed the latest bootcamp support software on a thumbdrive from my OSX partition, then switched to the Windows partition and opened the thumbdrive. Then I to opened the folder labeled bootcamp, to drivers, apple, and ran the AppleKeyoardInstaller64.exe. My functions were back immediately.

I too installed AppleKeyoardInstaller64.exe (from the package created from within Mac OSX using BootCamp to download the driver package) but the installer just went through without installing anything and then reported back that "The device driver installation wizard did not update any of your software for your hardware devices because it was not better than the software you currently have installed."

In Device Manager, under "Keyboards", I see 2 entries of "HID Keyboard Device". Should I be seeing something like "Apple Wireless Keyboard" instead?

Most importantly, the function keys on the keyboard still don't work in Windows 10 (everything else works).

Anybody know how to solve this?

How do you do a "repair install" of Bootcamp drivers?

On my iMac, installing the whole driver package (using setup.exe) results in the whole installation getting stuck at the stage of installing "Real audio". This happened twice.

The Bootcamp control panel disappeared from my system tray and I can't get it back since the full driver package installation wouldn't complete.

Can someone please advise?
