since upgrading to windows 10 I have lost my calendar

Since the upgrade to window 10 I have lost the calendar & contacts in outlook with my I phone.

I get an error message the set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.

I guess this is something to do with the I cloud and windows 10.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks

Same problem. I found a link on a Microsoft forum that said:

"Close Outlook, Log off iCloud and then Uninstall it.

Reboot computer, Install iCloud again, and Reboot again

Log in to iCloud through the control panel, set it up again and set up the calendar and tasks

Open Outlook and it should work."

I did this and yes it works. HOWEVER, the iCloud photos does not work. There seems to be a resource or permissions conflict with the iCloud photo folder. (There is another thread on this forum about this unresolved problem.) I turned off the iCloud photos. I recommend not turning it on after you reinstall it.

Now the iCloud control panel won't even open for me so I can't trouble shoot it any further. :-(

But the calendar problem has been fixed which is more important to me at this time than the photos. One step forward - one step back.

UPDATE: I upgraded another laptop to Windows 10 and got the Calendar and iCloud photos working.

First I followed the steps above to remove and reinstall iCloud. However before reinstalling iCloud, I deleted the folder from; /users/'your-user-name'/pictures/iCloud Photos. (Since Windows doesn't seem to like the folder there) And I created a new folder up one level at; /users/'your-user-name'/iCloud Photos.

Then after the re-installation noted above I selected the new location for the iCloud photos and everything works now.

I just have to figure out how to fix the other computer when the iCloud control panel won't open....

I had this same problem of iCloud Photos not having the right permissions. I found that you don't really have to "reinstall" iCloud.. All I did was:

1. Sign out of iCloud

2. Move the c:/users/[your name]/pictures/iCloud Photos to c:/users/[your name]/iCloud Photos

3. Restart iCloud

4. Change the path to iCloud Photos to c:/users/[your name]/iCloud Photos

5. Apply

6. Reboot

That's it. But we shouldn't have to do this!! Why did Microsoft change all the permissions so that things break? It only causes us all to hate MS even more. Apple rules, MS drools.

Thanks to you guys I solved that nagging iCloud problem. 🙂 ➕

The second flaw, after also having had administrator issues.
At first Windows10 seemed so nice... 😟 ➖

Had to close down iCloud and work around it for almost two weeks, because I couldn't find the time to look for solutions. Now it has.

And I'm so glad all my contacts and agenda were restored without problem! I feared the empty ones from Outlook would be uploaded to my iPhone, iPad and Macbook. That would have been a disaster! But gladly nothing was lost.

So, hopefully all is sorted now.

I had set up my Outlook 2013 to sync the calendar with my iPhone by using iCloud. It worked for some weeks, but after a major update of Windows 10 the other day, my computer will not let me install iCloud for Windows. I have contacted Microsoft. They suggested to set up a new account, but that takes hours, so I'm waiting for another resolution.

I have similar issues but a little different. I upgraded to Windows 10 and Office 365. After that I found I could not upgrade iTunes on my PC. Just recently I found that iCloud has disappeared from my Outlook program. I got a message that iCloud could not work with 2 versions of Office, so I deleted the old one and reinstalled Office 365.

When I try to reinstall iCloud or iTunes, I now get the same error message. The downloaded packages are looking for a program that on the PC that they cannot find. Evidently Microsoft moved it to a different location or changed the program name.

I think the fix has to come from Apple so I'm waiting. I would really like to have my contacts back in Outlook so I can send mail ! ! !

If I hadn't spent around 18years doing PC support, implementing servers world wide and supporting them for a Fortune 10 company, I might believe it is a Microsoft problem solely. But . . .When neither an upgrade to iTunes or reinstalling iCloud on my PC works due to a particular file missing on the install, I kind of believe the Apple has an issue also with their package. It sounds like the package is looking for a particular file and probably hard coded the path in the install package for both and Microsoft moved the file.
