No app store apps on new macbook pro

I recently got a new macbook pro and logged in with my apple ID. However after syncing my iphone 5 none of the apps I downloaded from it are on my laptop. Does anyone know why or how to get them without downloading them again?

iOS version of apps will not work on a Mac.

Apps that run on an iPhone cannot run on a Mac. iOS vs OS X.

There's no need to call AppleCare.
