how do i add a folder to favourites in finder?
just got a new imac (never had one) with os x(10.10.4) in Finder i have a list of favourites. can i add my own folders in there or not?
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Select/highlight the folder that you want to add and press control-command-T on your keyboard (or File > Add To Sidebar menu option) and it should be added to the favourites on the left-hand sidebar - to remove a folder from the list control-click it on the sidebar and select 'remove from sidebar' on the popup
