Never had any problems with my MacBook 2010 until recently when I noticed the underside of my laptop heats up very quickly and to a staggering heat! It's too hot for a laptop!
Also does anyone else's Google Chrome randomly shut down without warning? If so, is there anyway I can fix this?!

Are your referring to MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)?
Mine is a 13-inch but yeah Mid 2010
Install a temperature/fan speed monitoring application. Then report the actual temperatures being attained and the application using the most CPU resources (found in Activity Monitor).
