Like all Apple products Apple Watch users need not concern themselves with such minutia. Charge it when it is convenient to do so.

Apple no longer recommends calibration for any devices, iPhone included.

Not correct. As I wrote, non-removable batteries in Apple products do not require calibration. Do whatever you want, but needlessly cycling it will only accelerate its eventual demise. Replacement cost will be $79. It's your money.
