UK Santander card won't add, error?

I had this problem, it was because I hadn't made a purchase or withdrawal on the card yet, it must be used for a transaction first. For anyone else who might be having trouble and find this page.

What is the error message? Exclude any personal information. When I first set up my cards one had scanned the expiry date incorrectly.

Mine did the same had to enter manually

By that I take it you mean the card was new and had not been used ie activated .

That would be a security check to ensure card was in correct hands and is not surprising
