Windows 10 show "Limited WiFi Access" on Windows 10

I upgraded windows 8.1 to windows 10, already installed on my macbook pro. Windows 8.1 was working fine but after the upgrade to windows 10 the WiFi searches for networks, connects to my router but says limited access. I tried different networks but same problem. Anybody having the same problem? What it could be its solution?

Hi, posting this in the hope it might help someone!

I've been battling a similar sounding problem for a few days, tried every hack I could find on the internet, resetting the access point(s), updating drivers, older drivers/newer drivers, Microsoft drivers/Broadcom drivers, command line hacks to reset tcp etc, nothing worked.

The only temporary solution I had up to this point was to disable and re-enable the wifi device per session, which at least allowed me to connect to the internet.

The partial wifi connection as 'public' seemed to clearly show an issue with authentication, but not an obvious cause. I was aware that when I'd just started Windows 10 for the first time it was asking a vague question that seemed to have swapped public/private firewall priorities around, which seemed really odd, and hinted of data corruption.

Anyway, the actual fix for me was really simple and has been robust past several restarts/power cycles -

In device manager (windows key{cmd}+x, selected device manager), expand Network adapters, double-click on your wifi adapter (Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter for me), select the Driver tag, then click the Uninstall button. Once the device has been uninstalled from the menu bar select Action, then Scan for hardware changes, and it should re-find your wifi adapter.

You can now reconnect to your access points, and you'll need to reenter your password.

My guess is the store for the credentials was damaged during the update, and this process resets things, though I can't say for sure...

For info, I was having this issue before and after installing the Bootcamp 6 drivers, so they didn't specifically help, though windows is now using the 7.35.118.40 drivers included in that package.

Good luck folks!
