Album show as Unknown Artist in Music app but are fine on iTunes

I have a couple of albums in my library which do not show under the Artist tab in the new music app. When I search for the songs they show as Unknown Artist but then when I play them the correct artist is listed. I've tried changing the artist name to something random but they still don't show. It means the only way I can find these artists is to search for them or to create a playlist which is annoying. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hello philip228,

If these songs are being synced from iTunes then you will need to go into your iTunes music library, right click the affected songs, and select "Get Info." From the Details make sure that artist and album artist are the same. If they are or if this album has multiple artists check the compilation checkbox. You can try this with one song as a test.

After doing those steps sync with your device again and test the issue. Often small changes can be overlooked while syncing so if it still occurs try deleting the affected songs from your device and re-syncing them. I hope this helps.

Try this.... Go to iTunes and find one of the albums in question. Click on it and when it expands showing all songs, select all the songs, then right click and click on Get Info. Edit the Artist Name to the proper name and then resync that album to your phone.
