Is it possible to get ram at a higher speed for this mac pro? Will that work?

Im interested in upgrading my ram from 8 gigs to 32. Wondering what the highest speed is for the ram.

You cannot use RAM with specs different from those set forth for your model.

Maximum Memory48 GB (Quad-Core Actual) 128 GB (8- and 12-Core Actual) 32 GB (Quad-Core Apple) 64 GB (8- and 12-Core Apple)
Memory Slots4 (Quad-Core) or 8 (8- and 12-Core) - 240-pin PC3-10600E (1333 MHz) DDR3 ECC SDRAM (memory speed for certain configurations is 1066 MHz)

Using memory rated at a higher speed won't run any faster than your memory bus supports which is 1333 MHz, so there's little point in using faster rated RAM.
