Early 2011 MacBook Pro windows 10

Obviously windows 10 isn't supported on an early 2011 MacBook Pro, but can it still be installed onto it?

I have a MacBook Pro 17 early 2011.

First install Windows 10 in an external USB drive. All works perfectly for weeks. But after connect my Mac to an external monitor for a presentation all was terrible.

At startup without another screen, Windows believe the external monitor was installed yet, and the login screen was settled to that. Then my MBP have a black screen with the cursor only. But I did not know the login screen was in another virtual space in the other part of the world.

Well, try to install W10 again, but wasn't possible.... Your computer do not fit with the requirements etc.....

Then install W8.1. And I am working with FRAMECAD software since then without troubles, except a nasty Chinese virus that put my screen with spam Chinese characters.

Now appear an update to W10 and I do not know what to do.....

Any suggestions

I accidentally found this forum topic, because I've found that bootcamp doesn't support my MBP 13 early 2011 (Latest El Capitan) 8GB RAM SSD.

So I tried to download the BC 5.1 windows drivers to prepare for upgrading to windows 10, with the steps below
1. Open boot Camp assistant, check the version (About BCA) and it was 5.1.x (Can't remember the exact minor version number)
2. Open BC menu > "Action" > "Download windows support software" and wait until finished downloaded.
3. Amazingly, I checked the BC version again, it's now 6.0.1 (6024.40.2) !!!! What?!!

Really happy with it.
Now, in a few days next, I will try upgrade my BC windows 7 to 10.

I also have a Macbook Pro 17inch Early 2011 with Mavericks and used a special guide to install Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I have 16GB RAM and did this to be able to play old Windows Games like Sim City 4 from 2003 or Civilization 3 without the overheating from high CPU and GPU usage in Steam on OS X or a Virtual Machine like Parallels.

But also with Bootcamp the idle CPU has about 50 degrees celsius on all four cores. Simple tasks like browsing google fire the CPU and GPU up. The macbook aluminium body is much warmer than in OS X idle state.

There is a guide to update the AMD Radeon 6750M drivers, but I suspect this wont solve high CPU ( ! ) temperatures.

Are you experiencing the same or do I have a wrong setup somehow? I

Have you checked the Power Options -> Advanced Settings and looked at Minimum and Maximum processor states and Cooling policy. Do the fans run constantly? If yes, a SMC Reset may also help.

Thanks for your fast reply! I put it to 99% in battery mode and while beeing idle temperatures are about 41 degrees now on the cores (Battery 26, Memory Slot 55). This is still higher than in OS X, I think. Is there an option to deactivate a core totally? I use Macs Fan Control to control the fan speed. But I would like to reduce temperature generation in the first place. While installing Sim City 4 from CD and beeing in power supply mode I now already have a pretty warm spot on top of the keyboard and CPU Core temperatures are about 56 degrees although I changed all the settings to the lower modes and 99% of CPU maximum.
