Hi Mr Bennet, Yes all went good as soon as i tried it on apple wifi.it took around 1.50 hrs for me to set up a new os x yosemite. Many thanks to all for your advise. Also can u advise how to view things in full screen mode or view automatically when i open the concerned application.like if i open text editor its display size is almost 1/3 of the total screen.I tried but it still remains in same view size.as i mentioned earlier i am new to mac so still learning about it.Any advise will be highly appreciated.

Thanks Mr Bennet,

I dont have any idea about dns i was going through discussions of like similar problem others have faced so come across a solution which requires a change in dns.ok for a while leave it a side ...i will explain what actually i did.

I thought to give a clean install of os x in my mac by erasing my harddisk as wel,so followed following steps.

1.booted mac with option r and used utility to erase my hardisk....

2. after erasing selected reinstall ox tab and followed few steps and which asked me to sign in icoud as well (all good till here)

3.Then when downloading starts it takes 6 to12 hrs remaining but after 3-4 hrs it displays a mess "os x yosmite failed to downlaod use purchases page to try again"

4.I have done this many times and have tried all times in days and night but problem is same.

5.I have no hardware issue with my mac , it was working perfect untill i did this.

6.Now as i have erased the harddisk there is no OS installed , so even if i dont press R with option it takes me to same page for reinstalling or restoring it from backup, utility etc page.

7 many people on this discussion page says its a apple server problem but where should i go ....feeling very bad abt this.

8. I dont have a backup to restore and also i am on a fibre 12 Mbps internet speed so cant understand what is the issue..

Its out of free support as wel ,can u advise how to fix it.... the error looks like the below image ..many thanks

Thanks for letting us know it was resolved 🙂

Apps have a fullscreen button in the top right corner (2 diagonal arrows). Click that to go fullscreen. To leave that mode move the mouse into the top right corner & click the same icon again (this time it's blue).

You should probably get used to using the OS X help menu. It shows menu items & links to lots of info.

The online help is worth a look too…

Can you try connecting to an ethernet connection that is directly connected to your router or network switch?

WiFi can be slow & unstable. The download is around 5GB for the OS, the initial internet recovery disk is also around 600MB. It can be many times faster on ethernet. If that fails you may need to consider editing your router settings to use another DNS server, however it seems that you should rule out WiFi instability if at all possible.
