Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit Installation Error

Hi Everyone!!!

This post is regarding the installation of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I tried installing Windows 7 Pro ( 64 Bit ) On my Mac running the latest version of Mac OS X Yosemite.

I used Bootcamp Assistant and followed all the steps. Creating the .iso file , windows support software and also made a 150GB Partition.

Note that I have the ORIGINAL Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Software Installation Disc. I did NOT use any counterfeit version of Windows or any other third party software for the installation of Microsoft windows.

I used the Apple USB Superdrive to get the .iso file from the disc and did the installation steps.

Now , Windows.

While installing windows , I found that I had to format the partition that bootcamp had created for windows . That went well.

I installed windows and when my Mac reboots , I get this error saying that Windows was not able to start up. Because " Windows could verify the digital signature of the file " -- \windows\system32\drivers\AppleSSD.sys " error code - 0xc0000428 . I don't know HOW this happens and I have tried installing windows about 4-5 times now and every time , I get that annoying error despite BOOTCAMP downloading the Windows Support Files.

FYI , My Trackpad and Keyboard work Perfectly

When using Bootcamp I got a message that said I had to install windows & support files later . -- Could this be the problem??

If so , then how do I install the "support files" ?

I would really appreciate it if some one could help me out on this.

Thanks a Bunch!!!

Matt

I have run windows on parallels but the software I need to run our business program does not work on it, the program we use is AGRO IT which was built especially for our branch of business. I switch between other work stations to gather the information I need to do my work, As said here above, I shall endeavour to install windows 8.1 and see if that solves the usb problem, I also need to use a windows keyboard as I use the F keys and page up and down which are not supported on the imac keyboard, thanks for your idea though, maybe it will help others suffering from the same problem, I have been over to the dutch forum, and there are far more people there with the same problem I am having, USB ports not working. All very strange indeed.

I have the same problems that you are discribing . It does not see the USB because the drivers are not installed. There is someone who said EXTRACT the files from BootCamp 5X but I think he is talking about before the upgrade to BootCamp 6. So that solution does not work.

I have had programs that did not run on Paralles but it worked on VirtualBox (Mine was Esignal). Please try VirtualBox before a solution can be found. When install VirtualBox make sure you install drivers after.

You can see that the solution that was posted the person said it was so long ago that he does not even remember if the file is zipped or not. This is fresh problem. I was running BootCamp until last week why did I want to upgrade to BootCamp 6 only heaven knows why I did that.

My next move is to try and see if I can install Windows 10 on BootCamp, the reason is Apple said they will not support Windows 7 anymore. There is the headline below. I have tried to install Windows 8.1 it also did not work after the upgrade. I wish I didn't format my USB which had the old files (BootCamp 5X).

Windows 7 In Boot Camp No Longer Supported By Apple’s New MacBooks

Aug 20, 2015 2:37 AM in response to Joe_Seko

Hi Joe, BootCamp 6 is only for new computers, you have to look here for the drivers for your Mac first go to about my mac and see what age it isUser uploaded file

this says late 2012 on my mac so I went to this page Systeemvereisten voor het installeren van Windows op een Mac via Boot Camp - Apple Support scroll down until found my computer it says I need the software

Boot Camp-ondersteuningssoftware 5.1.5621

which I downloaded before hand. then I used bootcamp to do its work, only using the first 2 options in bootcamp before the install windows. When that had finished I double clicked on the zip file of the windows software 5.1.5621 which then opened it into a normal file which I copied to the root of the thumb drive already prepared by bootcamp, replacing the files in there. Then went back to bookcamp and went to the install windows, which it did, but usb ports not working. so back into mac par. copied the contents of the downloaded drivers, put them onto the bootcamp partition in a map where I could find them, went back into w7 found them and click on install, all the drivers were installed, but the usb ports still not working. I am now installing windows 8.1 and see if that helps. Bootcamp 6 is for new computers and those installing windows 10 only. The rest of us can just sit and wait for them to solve this problem, that everyone seems to be having.😠

Yeah, I have New Computer. I upgraded. I really don't need BootCamp, I found solutions to connect to the Network & printing is not a problem for me to the Network. Between the 4 VM's there a solution out there not to use BootCamp, Linux, VMware, Parallels and VirtualBox. I have used all four and VirtualBox and Parallels are the once I use the most.

I wish I could get my hands on the software that you are using, but I think it must be an expensive piece of software.

Misty, I wish I had mentioned that about Windows 7 not supported anymore by Apple. You also gave me an Idea to get the Key for Windows 10, I can't install Windows 8.1 because it is ENTERPRISE the one I have and no upgrade for Windows 8.1 ENT. Now I am testing to install Windows 10 and use the key that I did I get after the upgrade. BUT as I said I don't need Bootcamp for me it is just a playgroud just one more toy, I don't want to be left behind.
