Bootcamp Drivers for Windows 10

We are users like you. Contact Apple and ask them why your machine is not supported. Use the contact us link at the bottom of these pages.

Regression testing drivers on hardware and OSes which are 5+ years old is not a trivial task. You are able to run ELC on a 5+ year-old Mac. If you really want W10, you may want to consider virtualization solutions which abstract the hardware/firmware layer, but can be slower.

This type of certification also allows new revenue from new purchases which endears corporations to Wall Street. 😉

There is 486DX100 which is also Intel as is an 8086/8085. 😉 The point is that older processors have significant differences, and not all can be supported well. I have a 2006 original PPC Mini which is 1.25Ghz and 1GB RAM. I can still run Tiger very well on it.

I just find it silly they are supporting the 2012 Mac Mini but not the 2010 MacPro. Many people still use it!

And the Xeon is way better than the i7 for multi core stuff. I understood when they left the PPC users high and dry because the Intel transition was significant, but Windows 10 installs fine on my older Mac, thankfully I don't "need" these drivers, but it'd just be nice.

Found a super helpful thread on MacRumors. There's already been a download of the update and the drivers work just fine on pre-2012 macs. The blocking is completely artificial. Thanks Apple 😟

I can vaguely understand but

a) Windows 10 is running fine at the moment on my MacPro 2010

b) Many studios and schools still use the older MacPro due to upgradability

c) It's still Intel
