Please tell me how to turn off stabilization?!

I have just discovered from other posts here that the 'stabilization' that I applied to 6 movie clips has resulted in all the heads being cut off; another spectacularly idiotic mess from Apple! (How could they think anyone would want a video with all the heads cut off?!).

Please can someone tell me exactly how to turn off the wretched stabilization which has cropped & messed up my video? I've tried opening the 'clip inspector' but it gives no option to remove or turn off the stabilization. Please, please don't tell me I need to re-make all of the projects from scratch; it has taken me days to put together these videos, all of which are now cropped so much they are unusable!

Thanks for any help; I am getting really desperate here!

Stabilisation requires zooming in else you would have moving black borders around your video - it can't be avoided. To turn it off select the affected clip, then the stabilisation icon above the viewer and click on the tick where it says "Stabilize Shaky Video". You can also adjust the amount of shake compensation by moving the slider on the right. You may be able to find a lower level which gives some stabilisation without cutting heads off.

Thank you,

But your screenshot looks nothing like my iMovie interface! I don't have this box saying 'Stabilize shaky video'. I switched on the stabilization by double-clicking on each clip, which brings up a small window where you can tick a box that analyzes & then stabilises each clip. But there seems to be no way to undo this. I tried double clicking again & un-checking the box but it does nothing.

Confused!.....

Thanks; I'll take a look at this, though at first glance it doesn't seem to correspond with what I did...

NB: I don't understand how to get the latest versions of Apple software? I'm supposed to get alerts when there are upgrades to all the software - I get them all the time for iTunes, but have never had anything for iMovie.
