App Store Slow

I'm trying to update the apps on my iMac in the App Store, but the downloads are going INCREDIBLY slowly! I've already tested my download speeds in an internet browser, and they're normal. I've also tried restarting the computer, the App Store, and the network router to no avail.

Is there something wrong with the App Store right now? I've noticed other posts in the support forums over the past 24-hours with similar issues, but no comment anywhere from Apple. I'd rather not wait 7 Days while GarageBand updates, but that's the download time that the App Store is quoting me right now... 😢

FYI, running a 21.5-inch iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 with 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory and 1 TB Storage. OSX Yosemite 10.10.3.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

The problem is because you're on a CenturyLink Wifi Connection. The problem is CenturyLink. I suggest you go to their facebook page and voice your displeasure and request that they look into the problem. Everyone I know that is on CenturyLink is having the same problem that you and I are having. You can't download anything on WIFI from iTunes store or App Store, or any Apple Updates, but it works just fine when you're on a different ISP or through your data connection for your cell phone. Again, the problem is CenturyLink

i agree ... its an apple servers issue and not my ISP and/or hardware within my topology (e.g. router, wifi, bridge, etc.)

iphone 6, ipad 3, 2012 mbp ... all slow ... my windows 7 updates in parallels runs QUICK ... and i can stream video (youtube, amazon) without any hesistation ... both CL and speedtest.net show my connection as 20mb down and 1.5 up ... so its plenty fast.

took my iphone 6 ... reset network settings ... still, app store download takes nearly 24 hours for a given app (regardless of size) to download.

QA at apple since i switched from win to osx/ios has been getting worse ... it seems like they have a bunch of clowns and probably a territorial war where camp A blames camp B and vise-versa ... contemplating re-imagining my 2012 MBP to windows 10 and fore-going any OSX software at this point ...

disappointed in quality

For what it is worth, I'm see the same kind of slow performance from the App store and iTunes downloads. I had to put a new hard drive in my mid 2011 iMac. After I installed the new hard drive, I installed Mountain Lion. Once I booted up, I downloaded Yosemite. This first download of Yosemite went very fast. After I installed Yosemite, I had extremely slow App download speed. For this reason, I did another clean install and went back to Mountain Lion. Now, I can't get any downloads from the App store to go fast (example, a 22Mb file can take a day to download). However, if I go to the Apple download site and download the updates manually, I get very good download speeds. All other internet speeds/test show my download at around 50Mbps and my upload around 3.3Mbps.
