Buying a Macbook Pro off of Craigslist, weird Part Number

I'm looking to purchase a Macbook Pro 15" off of Craigslist for a **** of a deal, which is why I'm skeptical. Because the price is so low. All the serial number information matched up, the only thing that was off was the part number. Anybody who knows Apple well enough knows the usual format of a Macbook Pro part number is MF847LL/A or MG872LL/A. This part number says Z0RF00052. I've found no info on this whatsoever, even after contacting Apple Support. I'm wondering if anybody can shed some light to this. Thanks

If the price is too good, you may be dealing with stolen merchandise. Purchasing a second hand Mac is a high risk proposition and ideally requires some extensive knowledge of the product.

I recently purchased a second hand MBP from OWC, a reputable Mac accessories vendor. I was afforded a 14 return privilege and a 90 day warranty. Based on final bids on ebay for comparable MBPs, the price was towards the high end. Since the MBP works perfectly I have no regrets or complaints.

Ciao.

Z0RF***** part numbers correspond to CTO (custom to order) versions of base models. This particular Z0RF00052 model is a MJLQ2LL/A with an upgrade to 512GB storage. I had this exact question and this information was verified by a few Apple reps, and is also shown here: https://adorama.4myrebate.com/?oc=ADO-100014. I had to dig quite a bit for this info with the Apple reps as they were no help at first.

This being said, I would echo others who say be wary of purchasing off of Craig's List. I wouldn't do it for such an item.
