iWork '09 Unexpectingly

So i have a early 2006 Macbook Pro with 10.6.8

I cannot update to lion because my processor is a core duo, which *****. Anyways, I screwed my mac editing the Version.plist folder to try to spoof it to get something. It didn't work and had to reinstall Snow leopard with a 10.6.3 disc. Everything went back to normal except iWork '09. It says i need 10.7.4 or higher. So i downloaded the 09 trial and updated it using the 9.1 updater. And i get told that Pages Unexpectedly quits. I just need pages to work for school, any help will be appreciated. No i do not have the iwork 09 disc, if i cannot resolve these issues soon i will buy the disc.

Despite all the missing words and information I think I got the gist of that.

Pages '09 v4.3 needs Lion OSX 10.7.4.

If you reinstall iWork '09 on your OSX 10.6.8, don't update it past iWork '09 v4.0.5.

Amazon is selling the iWork '09 boxed set very cheaply if you need it. This time back up all your installers onto a spare hard drive along with any serial numbers for future use.

You should have kept responding to your original post here that Peter was helping you — not start another post on the same problem.

If you installed from the iWork '09 DVD into OS X 10.6.8, and there were no previous wrong files installed, then you should have used the Apple iWork 9.1 updater which is good for OS X 10.6.6 — 10.6.8, and Lion 10.7.0 — 10.7.3. If you applied the Apple iWork 9.3 updater, it expects Lion 10.7.4 or later.

Apply the Apple iWork 9.1 updater, it will overwrite the Pages, Numbers, and Keynote applications with the correct versions for OS X 10.6.8.

Sorry guys about re-posting it, won't happen in future. I want to thank all of you for your help but i am still having the same thing after the combo updater. When i get the mesage, it seems like the version is showing "???" I am thinking it might be a framework problem but i do not know computers that well to figure it out

Update: it is showing the version, but it is still crashing. I think this is the problem...

Dyld Error Message:

Symbol not found: __xpc_type_error

Referenced from: /Library/Application Support/iWork '09/Frameworks/SFBlocks.framework/Versions/A/SFBlocks

Expected in: dynamic lookup

Any ideas on how to fix?

Did you update Pages to v 4.05? VikingOSX has made an error, 4.05 is the max for OSX 10.6.8.

What version is it showing in Menu > Pages > About Pages?

This is the link for iWork '09 4.04, I can not locate 4.05 at the moment.

iWork 9.0.4

Apply this and the use Software update to see if it finds v4.05.

v 4.04 should be fine anyway.

There is an Apple iWork 9.1 update for the iWork '09 DVD. It is intended for the range of OS X that I mentioned earlier, and I actually have it installed here on 10.6.8. The version of Pages '09 is evident from this Get Info capture. What error did I make here in recommending this update?

Install from the retail iWork '09 DVD again. Immediately follow that with the Apple iWork 9.1 updater.

Ok i did that, and it is reading the Version of the program, but it still is quitting. 😟, i have no clue how to fix this considering i thought reinstalling it and putting the version on it would work.

It should be as simple as what I suggested. What do you mean by putting the version on it, and it is reading the version of the program? What message is Pages '09 v4.1 producing before it quits?
