iWork '09 Unexpectingly

So i have a early 2006 Macbook Pro with 10.6.8

I cannot update to lion because my processor is a core duo, which *****. Anyways, I screwed my mac editing the Version.plist folder to try to spoof it to get something. It didn't work and had to reinstall Snow leopard with a 10.6.3 disc. Everything went back to normal except iWork '09. It says i need 10.7.4 or higher. So i downloaded the 09 trial and updated it using the 9.1 updater. And i get told that Pages Unexpectedly quits. I just need pages to work for school, any help will be appreciated. No i do not have the iwork 09 disc, if i cannot resolve these issues soon i will buy the disc.

Despite all the missing words and information I think I got the gist of that.

Pages '09 v4.3 needs Lion OSX 10.7.4.

If you reinstall iWork '09 on your OSX 10.6.8, don't update it past iWork '09 v4.0.5.

Amazon is selling the iWork '09 boxed set very cheaply if you need it. This time back up all your installers onto a spare hard drive along with any serial numbers for future use.

You are installing from a retail iWork '09 DVD, and then following that with the iWork 9.1 updater right?

I see that Pages is v4.1, and it looks as though it is either not finding the dependent SFBlocks.framework, or that library is damaged. That library (and others) is installed by the iWork '09 DVD.

Run Disk Utility and from the First Aid tab, verify/repair permissions on your boot drive. Afterwards, in a Finder window, go into your username/Library/Preferences folder, drag the com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist file to your Desktop. Relaunch Pages with the shift-key held down. Did it work correctly this time?

Haha you won'y believe this. I fixed it on myself. So here is what happened. Basically, i had to rethink my plan of action, yes it had to do with the frameworks, so it had to do with the application support folder of it. I went into the folder that they said i was missing the _xpc. It looked ok to me, so i went into the package contents of the iWork disc and manually dropped it in, works good as new now. Thank you for all the help guys, i really needed it.

You are correct Viking:

About iWork 9.1 Update - Apple Support

iWork 9.1

Pages 4.1 will work on OSX 10.6.8.

The reason I have capped my updates at 4.05 is that the actual Software update stops at that version and the jump to 4.1 introduces the nasties I am trying to avoid, which was the awful implementation of Auto-Save and the elimination of Save from the File Menu.
