iOS 8.4.1: No Apple Music + Downloading Apps

I've installed iOS 8.4.1 and noticed three major problems which make my iDevices useless for me:

1. The all new Apple Music stopped playing songs. I'm still in my trial period and enjoyed Apple Music so far. But now the App won't start playing songs.

2. I can't download Apps from the App Store. The circle just keeps spinning and spinning.

3. I wanted to check out my iTunes & App Store settings to solve these issues on my own. But every time I want to open it within the Settings App, it freezes. I also noticed Safari would freeze very often since 8.4.1.

Now I'm sitting here with my iPhone / iPad and can't listen to music. I can't even switch back to Spotify because I can't download the App. It's a mess!!!

Hi. I'm having the same problem on my iPhone 5s AND iPad 4. Mac OS doesn't seem to be affected. When I open specific apps and settings the app is freezing. I can double push the homebutton and kill it. The operating system is still working.

Affected apps and options:

- iBooks -> White screen and freezing -> Kill iBooks app

- ITunes store -> white screen and freezing-> Kill iTunes store app

- Settings -> iTunes & App store -> Settings is freezing (Can't log out) -> Kill settings app

- Settings -> iCloud -> iCloud menu opens but then freezing. Cycle loading bar keeps loading and it doesn't move on

- Settings -> Music -> Settings is freezing -> Kill settings app

- Music -> Stops playing suddenly without reason even for local saved music

Syncing over thunderbolt with my iMac is also incredible slow and sometimes not working.

I tried all standard procedures to reset the iPhone and iPad. -> Reset to factory defaults but same behavior again.

From my feeling it started after 8.4.1. Haven't had any problems before except the suddenly stop playing music behavior.

I'm not deleting my keychain because it should be the most robust system and could cause a lot of trouble in terms of reseting passwords on all the services.

By the way is there a possiblility to backup the keychain?

Regards

Sascha

Update: As I mentioned the syncing with iMac was very slow and unresponsive. After I disconnected my iPhone and turned it off and on everything is working fine again. Even the iPad which had the exact same issues is working now even without doing anything on the iPad at all (No syncing, no factory reset). I can't really say what the fix was. I will update my post again if iOS is broken again.

Similar issue here. Sometimes it just kinda logs me out of Apple Music and asks me if I wanted to join the apple music program, just as it does when you open the app for the first time.

In my opinion Apples quality and stability has declined over the recent years. I'm getting the feeling that microsoft is doing a superior job in testing than apple nowadays. It's just sad to even think about. Apple should take it's time again to put out just the most stable and user friendly software possible. Apple music is neither of it. There is no need to rush when you're the most valuable brand out there. Never forget: Think different.

Hi All,

Having same exact problem on iPhone 6 PLUS and iPad Air.

Yes the restarts work for a bit and then problems happening again. After couple of iPhone restores (from backup and then set up as new iPhone) - it didn't resolve the issue - i did take it to the Apple store and after performing yet another restore as new iPhone in store it happened again. I was provided a new phone under warranty (ironically the new phone had to be replaced again the next day due to a flimsy touch id button!!!)

I have decided to keep the new iPhone on IOS 8.3 until IOS 9 releases and so far no issues.

I am still baffled that an update would ruin the phone like this and am extremely disappointed in Apple's software and hardware quality for the premiums they charge us.

Is there anyway to get this message across to Apple? They should be aware of such issues,

in any case, I have just tried the Keychain delete steps for my iPad and will keep you updated.

Good luck to all - its comforting to know i am not alone facing this annoyance.

I'm having this exact same issue too. After a while (on multiple wifi networks and even cellular data) Apple music songs will not play and applications will not download (stuck on waiting to download forever). Also anytime I try and go to the iTunes and App Store section of Settings or Music it freezes. The only fix seems to be restarting the device, which only solves this issue temporarily.
