BootCamp will not accept extra partitions. You are limited to 2, (4 actually but 2 are hidden, the recovery partition for Mac and a system partition for Windows)
You can have one standard Windows installation in addition to an OS X installation. Further partitions must be on a different drive, like an external.
Donc vous disait que c'est impossible de faire un triple boot sur un Mac ?

It is possible using two different methods.
1. If your Mac is UEFI compliant, and the Windows installation is EFI/UEFI, you can create unto 128 partitions in total.
2. On a legacy MBR/BIOS installation, Apple uses a Hybrid MBR. You will need to build a custom MBR from your GPT. Be aware that future software upgrades may cause possible data loss.
i now that i can create a lot of partition , but if i do this ; the bootcamp partition will be corrupted
for inf : i have MBP5,1 late 2008 and this is my partition list :
/dev/disk0
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *320.1 GB disk0
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS MACINTOSH HD 219.0 GB disk0s2
3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3
4: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 100.2 GB disk0s4
Please post the output of
sudo fdisk /dev/disk0
If you do not really need a partition on the internal disk, use Csound1 's suggestion.
this is the output :
Disk: /dev/disk0 geometry: 38913/255/63 [625142448 sectors]
Signature: 0xAA55
Starting Ending
#: id cyl hd sec - cyl hd sec [ start - size]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1: EE 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 1 - 409639] <Unknown ID>
2: AF 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 409640 - 427734368] HFS+
3: AB 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 428144008 - 1269536] Darwin Boot
*4: 07 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 429414400 - 195727360] HPFS/QNX/AUX
You currently have a BIOS/MBR installation, so your restricted to 4 entries in the MBR. If you still want to explore an additional partition, please see Lost boot ability to OSX and Windows 10 . Be aware that such a configuration is fragile and must be monitored and backed up very well to avoid data loss.
1 - can i delete the recovery partition and replce it by ubuntu ? to avoid the build of custom mbr
2 - if i build custom mbr , did it return to the default partitionment if i format the disk ?
3 - what is the difference between mbr & gpt
thank you loner T
1. No.
2. If you erase the entire disk, there is no MBR left. You start a clean GUID (GPT) disk.
3. Please see http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/hybrid.html for an excellent explanation.
De rien!
Please post back when you want to start partitioning and if you see any issues.
no problem men , I'll do
bootcamp
