Bootcamp Will Not Mount on Disk Utlity

Hello!

So I've been trying to figure out how to fix this error for the last hour, and nothing seems to be working.

User uploaded file
I've looked at other places online and most recommended to delete the Paragon NTFS driver. I deleted it, along with the two remaining extensions fusefs.fs & prlufs.fs from the system folder.

When I checked the log to see what happened it tells me this:

Aug 26 13:01:18 [Mac] Disk Utility[754]: Mount of disk0s4 blocked by dissenter PID=0 (unknown) status=0x0000c047 log=unknown message=(null)

Basically, I'm trying to get this mounted so I can make a copy of the partition using Winclone.

Any bits of info helps! Thank you!

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Bootcamp

Update: I read somewhere that MacFuse was part the problem. I found out I had MacFuse, so I deleted it.

When I went to check on the console, however, it gave me this:

Aug 27 17:44:31 [Mac] Disk Utility[914]: Mount of disk0s4 blocked by dissenter PID=0 (unknown) status=0x0000c047 log=unknown message=(null)

So basically, the same response. I'm thinking that maybe MacFuse wasn't completed deleted, because when I checked to see if it was still there using the terminal command [ pkgutil --pkgs | grep fuse ], I get this:

com.parallels.prlufs.core.macfuseCore.MacFUSECore.pkg

com.google.macfuse.core

So... I'm stumped. Anyone has any tips?

This seems NOT to be a BootCamp issue but rather an issue with the 'volume' you created FOR the BootCamp installation

Perhaps telling of your Story, from the beginning, might be in order.

*Images are really great -

TIP = you can resize them to thumbnails by clicking the image > 'handles' will appear at the corners for dragging

then, we can click the image in your post to view it full size in a 'viewer' pane

try it

User uploaded file

A quick question... are there data files on this volume?

You might consider reading and running this - then post the results > Using EtreCheck | Apple Support Communities

this is all really out of my bailiwick - I actually saw this originally in Using ASC forum and asked it moved to Yosemite, but our Hosts must have seen "bootcamp" in the title and moved it here. After you tell your Story, we can decide if another move is the best course.

@Loner T.

I had Parallels, but I recently uninstalled it.

@ ChitlinsCC

Thank you for the tip on resizing the images. That's pretty handy!

Before I tell the story, I'll respond to your question: I think so? I'm not exactly clear on what that means. ^^;

Okay, so the story begins all the way back earlier this Saturday. I recently bought a new MacBook Pro and I've been wanting to transfer everything, including the Bootcamp partition, onto it. I tried looking online for solution on getting the Bootcamp partition mounted transferred, when I caught wind of Winclone. Excited, I buy it and try it out. It then gives me this:

User uploaded file

Confused, I run to the Disk Utility to check out what's up. The Bootcamp is greyed out and I figured the reason why the program won't read the Bootcamp partition is because it's not mounted. Unfortunately, this comes up:

User uploaded file

Bewildered, I run to Google for the answers. I pull up several forums and articles where people had the same issue. Most of the responses explained that it 3rd party NTFS apps kept Apple's NTFS driver from mounting the partition. I went ahead and deleted the Paragon and MacFuse drivers and the files that came with it. The partition still would not mount. One of the articles I read explained that to make sure all of MacFuse was gone, when the commands

pkgutil --pkgs | grep fuse

kextstat | grep fuse

were entered, it meant that it was completely ridden of them. All I then get is this:

User uploaded file

SO, I can only assume something lingering around. Of course, that's only an assumption.

Frustrated, I went ahead and uninstalled Parallels as well, seeing how that might also have been a culprit. Alas, same response.

That is the overall story of how I've been trying to get this hard drive mounted. I've reinstalled Mac OSX about two times to see if that would do anything, but nothing over progresses from then on.

I'll try the program you recommended me, Chitlins, and I'll post what I get from there.

These are the results I got after running it.

I can try it again. I've reinstalled the OS about two times now, but I can give it one more swing.

Odd enough, whenever I reinstall, it just hangs on the starting up screen after installation and all. It doesn't move anywhere from then on, so I have to hard shut it. When I turn it on, however, it works fine.

I'll try it again, and I'll post the results though.

This may or may not have anything to do with your current problems, but it is usually the cause of a multitude of problems:

Uninstall CleanMyMac - completely superfluous as it "cleans" out needed system files.

And, unless you are needing WD or Seagate drivers for your Windows partition, there is no need to have any driver for any external hard drive on a Mac - their software is also superfluous. Once you format a drive for a Mac, nothing further is needed.

Same for pctools AV software (unless it is strictly installed on your Windows partition). And for com.valvesoftware.steamclean.plist.

Hello, again!

So, I reinstalled OSX like what LonerT did, and it basically left to the same issue, so then I went and did some uninstallation of iAntiVirus and any remnants of the drivers mentioned. Now, I did find something rather interesting while tinkering.

I tried installing an old version of MacFuse (ver 0.2.4) to see if maybe I can then uninstall with some bundled uninstallation kit, but it basically told me that it was already installed. I then tried to install the most recent (2.0.3). This installation basically did not recognize the previous version at all.

I went ahead with the old version installation to see whether there was an uninstallation script or something I could use to get rid of it. Nothing showed up at all, so then I went and ran pkgutil --pkgs | grep fuse on Terminal to see what shows up. Lo and behold, I get the same response:

User uploaded file

Now there's two! But, that's not all I was able to find. I also saw something different in how the two MacFuse installation packages are written.User uploaded file

Notice how the old version's package file name is written MacFUSE Core, whereas the latest is just MacFuse.

SO, what I determined is that the previous version of MacFuse is still lingering somewhere in my computer and I need to be able to locate it and delete it. Unfortunately, I can't find it at all. Does anyone have any tips on that? I got rid of the most recent, but the previous version is just hidden, tucked away somewhere...
