is 4 hours of usage normal for my iPhone 5s running 8.4.1 and is it true that apples new iOS (8.4.1) has battery drain issues thanks. I'm new to this thing so no hate please

If you have used it for 4 hours, then yes that would be normal 🙂
8.4.1 DOES NOT have battery drain issues. But your phone may, most likely caused by an app that is stuck in a loop. You need to find that app. Go to Settings/General/Usage - Battery usage, and see which apps are using the most energy.
