I have been unable to 'buy' the photo book I created for the past 48 hours, I keep getting the message 'The store is currently down for updates. We'll be back shortly.' Apple are not reporting any outages so wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I am using Yosemite 10.10.5 and purchased a book using the same mac 12 months ago.

will the book preview correctly - Preview a print project in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture to avoid issues - Apple Support
If so keep trying - over the past couple of weeks there have been many similer reports and continued trying seems to succeed eventually

Thank you for your help, the book previews fine. I guess I will wait a couple more days before finding an alternative service.

Here is a company that claims to be able to take your Photos book and print it - http://www.prestophoto.com/ - I have not tested them but they make that claim so are worth looking at

A senior support representative from Apple told me that certain aspects of the communication with the Apple Print Products site have been changed, and iPhoto is no longer compatible unless you upgrade to Yosemite.
One can reload iPhoto and it "should" work. I have not upgraded yet myself. He also said they are working to resolve the incompatibility, but do not know when it will be complete. He said Yosemite may be the near-term option.
So we're left with either upgrading to Yosemite, getting iPhoto 9.6.1 and ordering or keep trying with what we have and hope it goes thru or Apple fixes the problem.
I have been having the same problem for about 5 days.
Have rebuilt the photo library and no luck. Have changed shipping address and no luck.
Other ideas welcomed!
There is this issue with ordering prints that we have seen several times during the past few weeks. Often, the problem is solved by simply retyping the suggested address. Read this topic: Not able to purchase my new calendar

Your issue did look a bit different, but as it also involved ordering prints, the solution in the link I gave should be tried. Too bad it didn't work.
If this continues, I suggest that you contact Support. In Belgium I had such a problem a couple of years ago, related to the fact of Belgium being a multilingual country. Support was able to fix this. These guys want to sell you stuff, so they will do their utmost to get things going again.
Well, after 5 complete clean reinstalls of Yosemite I finally figured out what it was. I thought it was a corrupt script type file conflicted between iTunes and Photos. Nope. Instead after the last install I could place the order. Then, right after the computer switched wireless networks I was no longer able to (even though all other programs still worked). So, I erased all my saved wireless connections in the network settings and re-entered the info for only the one I wanted to use. And that was it. Hope it might help you.
Hi, I've been having the similar problem with "store not available". But also when I manage to get in to the store to buy my project it tells me that the shipping country and the billing country must be the same which it is too on my apple id.. what can I do to solve this? Any Ideas?
verify that the Print products country in the Photos preferences is correcnt and if that is not it Re-enter all of the billing info for your Apple ID
