Need help with a disk read error occured Bootcamp and Win7

Hello All,

I'm stuck after performing a hard drive resize.

Hardware is iMac 24 wih a 2TB Segate SSDHD Hybrid drive (dont think it matters though)

partitioned as follows: mac OSX and win7 with bootcamp also there is a Recovery-10.10.3 partition

I downsized the Mac partition with disk utility in order to make the win7 partition bigger (was running out of space). After freeing up space i used

Acronis Disk Director 2011 Home that i paid for to resize the windows partition. After it did all its magic i ended up with a black screen stating

"A disk read error occured Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

User uploaded file

OK Apple thanks for turning the iphone pic sideways ! Lol

anyway i can see all the operating systems in bootcamp when i hold the option key while booting and i can access the windows partion read only from finder eventhough win7 will not boot.

i've gotten conflicting info that the utility damaged the boocamp settings to i need to wipe the complete drive and start over. I dont think any of that sounds correct

Any suggestions on what to check or do would be very much appreciated

TiA

HI LonerT,

First I want to say thanks for all your help thus far ! I'm still unable to Boot win7. I've been trying to get this up and running and am still stuck.

All i seem to get is a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left. I've booted from the cd and run windows repair and still have the same result

I can see the the hard drive from the boot menu and while running osx. Is there a way to see what windows is upto when booting to see where it is getting stuck ?

I ran /fixmbr /fixboot /rebuildbcd and still am getting the same results ? Not sure if there is a driver issue or could it be looking in the wrong place when trying to boot.

Any direction here would be good. It's an imac 24 early 2009 and it was running win64 just fine till this mess started with the resize

TIA

I was reading about that and was thinking about doing that next, though I think if i do that my prograns and settings will not run and be lost. I think it only copies the folders into windowsold thus wasting hard drive space. I'm more stuck on why it wouln't boot, no windows logo or progress bar no f8 safe mode etc.

The cursor blinks a few times then stops for a sec or two then starts blinking again and thats as far as it goes. When booting with the CD it blinks and pauses the same, and then prompts you with press any key to boot from the CD. Any thoughts ?
