Little blue & white question mark

Little blue & white question mark

From time to time when I open a window (web site, email, etc.) I will get a small blue/white square with a question mark in it. I click on it, but nothing happens and I have been unable to figure out what to do with them other than ignore them. Seems I should be seeing something... what do I do with them.

MACBOOK PRO (RETINA, 15-INCH, LATE 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

If I'm understanding correctly what you're describing, the little blue and white question mark is a placeholder for an image that is not viewable. Either that image is not available on that page anymore, or there's something hinky in your browser that is not allowing you to view it. I second ASCarlisle's request for a screenshot.

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing
