iPod Classic won't work with iTunes 12

My classic iPod 30 GB has stopped syncing since upgrading my iTunes to version 12.

Worked fine before with iTunes 11, but now I have 'error 50', 'unknown error', read write issues, sometimes not appearing in iTunes and the desktop, iTunes crashes, iTunes freezes.

Also when it does sync I get 1 song copied and then iTunes hangs - and a force quit won't work and have to resort to restarting the Mac. Should also point out that this is the same bevaviour on two different Macs.

Is there any way I can downgrade my itunes to the version 11 - I'd like to use my iPod again.

Works with friends Mac running 10.9... must be software... wouldn't be surprised if Apple no longer support the iPod Classic anymore... bit like the iPhone 4 paper weight I have x

BIg clue that it works on 10.9. The iPhone 4 is still supported, don't see why yours would not work, but going back to the pod, check this article out.... Good luck.

Good morning tt, or good afternoon to you! When I click on your link above using Chrome on a MBP I get redirected to this same thread, not the article in reference. Don't know if this is an issue on my end or with the link (it has happened before with some of your other links). The same occurs if I right click with two fingers and try opening the link on another window. Do you see this behaviour also? Any ideas why I am getting this?

Cheers,

Carlos

Bah! Jive (the forum software) likes to play tricks. I'm really not sure why it happens, but perhaps it is something to do with editing the link title, or switching into the advanced editor. All I know is that nearly every time I double-check the link goes where it is supposed to. It's only when I forget to check that it sometimes goes wrong. 😠

That link should be Re: Corrupt iPod classic.

Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

Good afternoon, tt2. Another request from me but with your experience you are the person that comes to mind on an issue like this. If time permits, would you review the thread below. Is there a way of bringing older versions of Apps back by restoring from an older back up? The thread should explain the details... Thanks for your help. Carlos
