When I select text on my iPhone or iPad mini, the selection detector has way too many false positives for selecting the whole word or phrase, whereas I want to select arbitrary characters (I'm a coder). This happens a lot in Wunderlist, where there isn't much screen real estate for showing text in the first place.
How can we lower the detection rate (or disable altogether) phrase selection in text fields?
iPhone 6, iOS 8.4
Have you tried Landscape mode? Way easier to use the keyboard.
You could also try using a stylus, I do on my iPhone and it works great with my fat fingers. 🙂
Not all apps support landscape mode, unfortunately (I'm looking at you, Google Play Music!)
