Why can I not book a Genius Bar appt easily??

Most Apple store's genius bars are extremely busy. You can try a walk in, but there is no guarantee they will be willing or able to work you in. And depending on the nature of the repair, they may need to send it off regardless.

How are you trying to book the appointment? Also, depending on your location, as indicated earlier, they can be busy. I suggest using the Apple Store app on your iPhone to book the appointment. Are you in a location that has more than one Apple Store available?

No, I can't say. I suspect it depends on your locale and the nature of the repair.

You never said how you are trying to make the appointment. Although I have read here in the forum the difficulty it is to book appointments in the UK. Not sure the reason, but I know you can only book a week in advance.
