3g SIM not recognised on iPad2

3g SIM not recognised on iPad2, despite getting new SIM from Vodafone.

iPad 2, iOS 7.1.2

You need a data only sim.

Phone sim do not work on iPad.

You have to change the date and time. I did this, and then rebooted the iPad. Don't know if this solves your problem, but it shure helped me.
