On my wireless apple keyboard, the spacebar doest not turn into hand tool in adobe illustrator as shortcut, it just quit all of sudden, however the battery is new, HELP! LOL

Sudden onset of misbehaviors always are preceded by some event.

You say "all of a sudden" and the "battery is new" - was the new battery the preceding event? It is possible that the "new" battery is not so new after all.
