Hyphenation feature in Pages 4.3 no longer working

I have been using Pages '09 as a power-user since it released and because of the many documents created with it, I have not been able to switch to Pages 5. Recently (possibly as early as June), the "Hyphenation" option has ceased working. It does not matter if the button is clicked or not, it doesn't work. "Remove hyphenation for paragraph" is not ticked. This has, in effect, crippled some of my documents including a 352-page book that I created for self-publication in late 2014. The book was formatted specifically with hyphenation required due to page limits and the strictness of each page text. Now the entire document is, in effect, useless until hyphenation is repaired. This problem is occurring on both my MacBook Pro (Early 2011) and my iMac (Late 2007). Both are running OS X 10.11 (Public Beta 6). I am aware that this could be related to the beta software (one of my fonts was "updated" after an update) but it appears to have errored between updates, not after an update. Furthermore, I have not experienced this specific and strange type of application error previously and I have been a beta tester since the public testing program began.

I would appreciate any advice regarding how to fix this problem so that I may update this document other files.
