Mac Kernel Panics when using Adobe Illustrator

Question

Hello,I have 3 users in my office that have been experiencing semi consistent kernel panics when using Adobe Illustrator for 2-3 months now. All are on 10.9.5 with all recent updates. In their environment, they had a horrible mess of old fonts that were spread out among local HDDs and a shared server (more than 40k fonts in some cases.) Fonts were being managed by Suitcase Fusion 3 and the users were working from Adobe CS6. We thought that the font mess was causing an issue (corrupted fonts, duplicates, etc,)  and we wanted to give a clean sweep to the users, which they were hesitant to do during a busy work period (understandably) thus causing the 2-3 month duration of the problem. This week we were finally able to start them fresh, so we deleted all fonts other than required system fonts from each Mac, cleared all font caches using Font Nuke, purchased and installed a brand new set of Adobe Font Folio fonts, upgraded to Suitcase Fusion 6, and upgraded to CC2015. All seemed well, but then today one of the user&#x27;s Macs kernel panicked and rebooted again. Ugh.Below is the kernel panic report. Are you trying to open files on a network volume?

These users are, yes. They work both locally and from a Windows network share (not sure is Windows Server 2008 or 2012).

The file server may be incompatible. As a workaround, don&#x27;t open network files directly in the Adobe app. Copy them to the workstation in the Finder before opening them, then copy them back.

Thats what I was afraid of.Thank you for the quick reply!After seeing your other replies in Apple Support Communities Ive been studying up on reading kernel panic reports and logs in console.Can I ask - is there something you saw in that report that lead you to ask about network compatibility?

You can&#x27;t draw any firm conclusions from one panic report, but the SMB driver is in the backtrace.
