Imessages comming up on Ipad even though not logged on

I have recently gotten a new phone and gone through the entire process and gone through the process of liking it to icloud etc.

But Imessages are now coming up on my Ipad that I have sent from my Iphone. This is not something that I want to happen and having looking through the forms all the advise seems to say that I should change my Imessage setting on my Ipad. The major issue with this is that I am not logged on to Imessage on my Ipad nor have I even been so I don't have access to the settings that is spoke on. How do I change the fact that when I double click the home button on the ipad my "recents" message from john dow or joe blogs is at the top?

Apart form me not wanted this feature its annoy as when you click on the "messages" it asks you to log on. How did this information get transferred over?
