Help Portfoward

So i have been trying to port forward a airport extreme for 2 years, every time failing. i use my local ip address and use the right ports, but no one else can connect to my game. my friend's father is a security freak so we cant use hamachi. im on a windows vista pc. i want to use it for minecraft and magicite (An indie game). ive heard something about a dhcp Id reservation. the ports are 7777 (magicite port number) and of corse my ip is what is should be. thanks.

Is the AE in bridge or router mode.. if it is in router mode is it having double NAT issues??

There is no way to port forward with double NAT.

i use my local ip address and use the right ports, but no one else can connect to my game.

From outside the network you must use your public not local IP.

The easiest thing to do is for you to post the actual screenshots of your port forwards..

And also do a proof that the TC is not double NAT.. ie open a teminal (or dos windows) and type traceroute (tracert) 8.8.8.8

That will then show how many local NAT you pass through. Here is mine.. only one NAT router.

traceroute 8.8.8.8

traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

What broadband are you using.. cable, adsl, fibre etc. ??

What modem do you have.. the airport is not a modem so you must have it plugged into something else?

Make and model?

Does it have 4 LAN ports and perhaps wireless as well?

Please plug a computer directly into this modem router by ethernet and tell me what IP you show..

in windows you do this by opening a command window.. look it up if you still don't know.

Type ipconfig /all and copy and paste the results here.

The game computer should plug into this router.. by ethernet.. or wirelessly connect to this router.. NOT the airport.

You gave me pictures of the hardware.. but that doesn't help me.

In my previous post I asked a series of questions.. I need you to answer them please..

What broadband are you using.. cable, adsl, fibre etc. ??

There is a line running into your house.. is it a phone line or is it cable internet so a big thick coax or is it fibre?

You must tell me this to help you.

So far your pictures show me hardware at the end of the line.. I need to see the hardware that links to the outside world.

What modem do you have.. the airport is not a modem so you must have it plugged into something else?

Make and model?

Does it have 4 LAN ports and perhaps wireless as well?

This is the crucial one..

The TC does not sit in a vacuum.. it is plugged into something else.. what??

On the TC what is plugged into the WAN port.. with the round sunburst symbol.

Please plug a computer directly into this modem router by ethernet and tell me what IP you show..

Unplug the ethernet from the WAN port of the TC and plug that cable straight into the computer.

Tell me what happens.. what IP you get.. does your game work now??
