iPod nano 8th gen can't connect headphones

I just bought a iPod nano 8th gen. and after spending hours moving my music onto it, and was going to start using it, I have a problem connecting the headphones. Both my headset and the earbuds connects fine with my iPhone 4S and my old iPod (5th gen), but when trying to cennect them to my new iPod, they won't go all the way in.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there a solution to this, or do I have to return it and buy another new one?

The headphone jack on the 7th Generation Nano (there is not 8 G, just new colors) is very tight when new. Get a flashlight and make sure there is not obstruction in the jack (and clean if necessary) and then firmly push the headset jack in until the plastic on the jack is flush with the body of the Nano.

When i first got my iPod, i also thought that my earpods were too big, but it's just that the Nano's Headphone jack is quite tight. just push in the jack with enough force and it will eventually fit. of course, it won't be as tight the more you use it.
