Will the apple pencil work on ipad air 2

I have iPad air 2 too. I am using Bamboo fineline 2 and it works great, especially with notability.

I don't use it for drawing or stuff ... Just for annotating PDF's and for taking notes.

I have heard the pencil is equivalent to any other active stylus if used with iPad air 2.

The Apple Pencil does NOT work with any other iPad model other than the large and small iPad Pro models.

You "heard" wrong - I have both a large screen iPad Pro and an iPad Air 2 and I can assure the Apple pencil is utterly useless with the Air 2. It, and the iPad Pro screen have been specifically designed to work together. Anything but an iPad Pro screen will not work with an Apple Pencil.

I just signed on to thi site because I am new to Apple and I am trying to learn how to use this, to me, new tool efficiently. Next to your name and icon is an icon with Level 9 and the score? (52,622) I assume that makes your opinion/advice valuable and important. So, I thought your advice would help me. It does not. Your scolding of KimberleeMS for not listening to that morning's Apple Event reminded me of the teachers I had who would rather scold the students than teach them. I have no idea why your posting of Sept 9, 2015 was the first to appear when I sought information about the Apple Pencil, but there you are. Your scolding echoes to this date.
